Time to Pay the Entry Fee
You must pay by July 25, 2014 at 9 pm or you will lose your right to enter.

Pay Entry Fee

You must pay the entry fee to complete entry. All who applied for entry should pay now. (Since there were fewer than 300 applicants, we are treating everyone as a lottery "winner.") To pay the entry fee, take the "Pay Entry Fee" button below.

(This process is only for those who applied for entry by July 14. If you didn't apply before, or you did apply but don't pay by July 25 at 9 pm, you can join the wait list starting August 1. About the Entry Process)

This is the home for VHTRC Women's Half Marathon entry. The current status of entry and the starting point for anything you have to do to enter will be here.

We have held the lottery. Now is the time for "winners" to pay and join the entrants list. Those who were not chosen in the lottery may join the wait list with their priority ranking. Take the link below, and we will let you know your options and start the process to complete your entry. You must act by July 25, 2014 at 21:00 pm.

Mother Daughter Teams

You may form a mother-daughter team anytime after both team members have applied for entry or, if after the lottery, both team members are on the entrants list. Forming a team is a simple, but separate process from application. There is a link to the team formation on the last page of the application process. If both team members have applied for entry, you can go straight to the team formation page.

The VHTRC Entry Process

The VHTRC uses an entry system designed to promote fairness and transparency, and also to avoid anxiety on the day that registration opens. Our system is a bit different. Some questions and answers:

Am I Going to Get In?
You have a shot at entry only if you complete both steps of our entry process.

How Will I Know If I Get In?
It all depends on how many people apply. If more than 240 runners apply, we will automatically hold a lottery that determines who gets into the race. If you win the lottery, you're in the race -- as long as you pay your entry fee on time. If you lose the lottery, you can pay to join the preference-weighted wait list. The lottery results will be public and announced by July 18.

Why Isn't Entry First-Come, First-Served?
We don't like obsessively refreshing our browser 15 seconds after a entry opens either! So we designed our entry system to promote fairness, transparency, and above all, calm. For more information about the VHTRC's entry system, check out the detailed explanation.

Deadlines
The pace of entry is casual, and you do not need to be the first to do something. But opening and closing times are automatic and final. Don't wait until the last minute! There is no sleepy lackey turning entry off. The clock on our server does. It is punctual.
