The annual VHTRC awards will be conferred on July 22 at the Summer/Volunteers Party. (That date is a little tentative as we don't have a location for the party yet.) The awards, with one exception, are voted on by the VHTRC membership. (The James Moore Award is decided by the prior recipients of that award, not by the membership at large.) We are now calling for nominations for the awards. Please consider worthy candidates for the awards and send your nominations by e-mail to Joe Clapper a clapper@american.edu. Be sure to consult the rules and categories below. Nominations are due by June 10.
Please limit yourself to nominating one or, at most, two people per category. A select committee will review the nominations to be sure that they pass the laugh test. Nominations surviving that review will be presented to the VHTRC membership for voting.
Eligibility: One must be a VHTRC member to be eligible for a VHTRC award. The awards recognize achievement from last year's summer party to the time of voting. If someone joined the club during that time, achievements before joining cannot be considered. (Voters may, or may not, want to consider a runner's activity as a club member in their voting. That is up to each voter, however.) "VHTRC members" are defined as people on this list.
Categories (with last year's winners):
Remember to send nominations to Joe at clapper@american.edu by June 10th. The ballots will be posted on this Web site shortly thereafter.
