Preview: This page is a preview of the page you will receive when you come back to make your picks for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. These are 2009's games. (How things have changed! USC will definitely not be in the tournament this year and UCLA probably won't either.) Go ahead and play with it. When you get it filled out and push the button, nothing will happen. Come back after the tournament selections on Monday, March 15, to make your "real" picks. (Actually, we may not have this ready by Monday. It may be as late as Wednesday. But you can work on your picks ahead of time.)

You can make your picks by merely clicking on your teams in order. If you are interested, here are the results from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.

Here Are Your Brackets for March Madness

To enter, you must rank each team. You rank the teams in each regional bracket separately. So you will have four number one teams, four number two's, etc. One is a good ranking, 16 is the worst.

Scoring

After each game, the VHTRC.org computer will give you points that equal the number you gave the winning team. So if you ranked North Carolina number one, and it wins, you get one point. If North Carolina loses to Radford and you ranked Radford 16, you get 16 points. As the winning team continues in the tournament, it keeps scoring points for you. The lowest point score wins.

Instructions

The teams can be rated by just clicking on the boxes next to the team names in the order you want. So just write down your rankings, and then click on the boxes in order. If that's not clear, just click on some boxes with the mouse and see what happens. To clear out what you did, hit the CLEAR box at the bottom of each bracket.

Your ranked list will appear at the right as you work. (The team you click on will not appear at right until you click somewhere else.) You can change rankings but the system won't let you pick two of the same rank in one bracket. This may make it difficult to make changes as you get to the end. If you want to erase your picks in one bracket, you can use the button at the bottom of each bracket. It will only clear your picks in the one bracket, not the entire page. When you are sure your picks are right, hit the submit button at the bottom. If your picks are accepted, you will receive an e-mail confirming your picks.
