Welcome to the VHTRC Women’s Half Marathon
Entry for the 2013 race will open at 9 a.m. July 8.
Come back here to enter.
The VHTRC Women’s Half Marathon is a low-key yet challenging event designed to encourage more women to participate in trail running.
Check out the video below for a brief introduction to the course, navigation, aid stations, and trail-running tips from the race director, Tracy Dahl. The video was filmed on the Women’s Half Marathon course.
To ensure that all runners will be finished by 12:30 p.m., we will have an intermediate cutoff time of 10:45 a.m. to reach the Fountainhead Aid Station (about 8 miles cumulative). If you arrive after this time, you may not continue as an official entrant.
This is an event with risks. You are responsible for your own safety. The VHTRC does not provide any medical care during the run. No doctors, nurses, or emergency medical technicians are available along the course, at any aid station, or at the finish. In case of an emergency, we will endeavor to get local emergency personnel to an injured runner as soon as possible. Each year, runners finish — or drop out — with scrapes or sprains. Runners have experienced cuts, bruises, bee stings, and asthma attacks. Please be careful! Be prepared! And most of all, be safe! You will be required to sign a liability release form at packet pick-up on race day.
