- Thursday, June 25, 9:00am: Application opens
- Wednesday, July 1, 9:00pm: Application closes
- Monday, July 6: DOW close becomes lottery starting number NOT NEEDED
- Wednesday, July 8 - Tuesday, July 14: Applicants must pay.
- July 16: Entry reopens to all. If the field is full, you may join the waiting list.
- September 1: Deadline to withdraw and receive an entry fee refund (less $5).
- September 2: Entrants list final

In 2009, we are again using what has come to be the "VHTRC entry process." We use the process for all three of our events. The goal of this process is to eliminate frantic, first-come-first-served entry. It requires two steps, but it is much calmer for everyone. As trail runners, we like calm.
The system is a two step process -- you fill out the application form, then you pay later. If too many people fill out the application form, we will have a lottery to see who may pay and enter the field. If we need a lottery, those who applied and were not picked will have priority on the waiting list.
You can read a full explanation of the entry process. You do not need to, however, we will guide you through the process.
How you pay:
In order to pay your entry fee, you will need either a credit card or an account with PayPal. All registration is online. We do not charge extra for online registration. (PayPal charges us $1.32 for each entry fee. We pay that out of our receipts.) You will pay through PayPal, but you do not need an account with PayPal.
Refunds:
While entry is not transferable, we do issue refunds if you ask for one by September 1. We keep $5 from each refund. There are no refunds after September 1.
