September 6 update
Entry is closed, and we are no longer able to issue refunds for withdrawals. See the final entrants list. You can pick up your bib beginning at 7:15 a.m. race day, Saturday, September 17.
Entry is limited to 240 runners. We are again using what has come to be known as the “VHTRC entry process.” We use it for all three of the club’s events. The goal is to eliminate frantic, first-come-first-served entry. It requires two steps, but it’s much calmer for everyone. As trail runners, we like calm.
Entry is in two steps — you fill out the application form, then you pay later. If too many people fill out the application form, we will have a lottery to see who may pay and enter the field. If we need a lottery, those who applied but were not picked may join the waiting list. (Entry is limited to 240. Since not all who apply for entry actually pay, we will not have the lottery unless the number of applicants goes significantly above 240.)

You must be at least 18 years old on race day to enter. There is one exception to this rule: If you will be at least 16 years old on the day of the race, you may enter if you are on a mother-daughter team. Your mother must co-sign your waiver with you at check-in.
How You Pay
To pay your entry fee, you will need either a credit card or an account with PayPal. All registration is online. We do not charge extra for online registration. (PayPal charges us $1.46 for each entry fee. We pay that out of our receipts.) You will pay through PayPal, but you do not need an account with PayPal.
Although entry is not transferable, we do issue refunds if you withdraw from the event by September 6 and if there is someone to take your place. (More information about refunds is on the withdrawal page) We keep $5 from each refund. There are no refunds after September 6.
