In earlier years of the event, we included two Potomac Appalachian Trail Club maps in the MMT entry fee. We found that many runners did not use the maps or, they already had them. We have decided to send the maps only to those who request them and pay an extra $15
If you ask for the maps, we will send you PATC maps G and H. These are topographic maps that cover the trails in the Massanutten Mountain -- north half (Map G) and south half (Map H). Map G was printed in 2002, includes the new Massanutten Trail completion, and is printed on water-resistant, tear-resistance synthetic stock in 6 colors. Most of the course is on this map. Only the Bird Knob section of the MMT course is on map H.
These maps are also available from the PATC for $6 each, plus shipping. The PATC also has a Guide to the Massanutten Mountains by Wil Kohlbrenner ($7 or $16 in a set with maps G and H). The Guide has not, however, been updated since the completion of the Massanutten Trail ring. (There are discounts for PATC members.) For further information, go to the PATC Web site.
