Elizabeth Furnace 50km - What a Difference a Year Makes

Unlike the "Adventure Quest" version of Elizabeth Furnace 50k that was held in 2010 (with stream crossings that threatened to drown the competitors) the 2011 EFA 50k had passable streams and sunny, warm weather.  It also had plenty of those Massanutten rocks, as evidenced by the spirited "best blood" competion.  67 runners took part in this year's race.  Results are still being tabulated, but the men's winner was David Frazier in a new course record time, and the women's winner was Michele Harmon.
