The 2016 Hot TWOT 100 Miler started on Friday morning, October 14, with runners taking off in a "shotgun" start format, ranging from 6 AM to 8 AM. The runners who began looping The Wild Oak Trail that morning were: Andrew Thomas IV and Ernesto Casarez (6AM start), Kathleen Cusick (7AM start, and one week removed from a finish at the Grindstone 100 Miler), Jon Jester (7:20 AM kick-off), and at 8 AM the final runners out of the TWOT lot and onto the "25 mile" course were Chris Pabian, Mike Pflieger, and Joey Delgado. This year, only one successfully persevered through all four loops to finish the TWOT 100 Miler - congratulations to Mike Pflieger, who completed the race in 33 hours and 20 minutes.
